Our current understanding is hundreds of trees will be cut down and this project is at the 90% design stage.

Note: this project does not include the controversial kayak launch which will potentially be located on western border of this project when built. It’s visible in graphics above.

We are unsure if this live oak will be destroyed in either project.

  1. Hi,

I’m a member of the VB Open Space Advisory Committee. This project had not come up at our monthly meeting. I forwarded your email to the Chair and suggested this project be discussed at the December meeting (this past Monday). This did not get included in the agenda for December, but he said that trees and forests would be a discussion item for the January meeting.

I added the Dec. 19 meeting to my calendar and will try to attend.

    Best regards,

    Bill Fleming
