I attended the meeting where you voted 10-1 for the Marlin Bay Project to be approved. The Ocean Park Civic League president did not speak for me or a majority of the members addressing our concerns over this project.. I am not opposed to development but would like to see something within the codes that include residential area restrictions. Ocean Park is the oldest community in the City of VA. Beach and the “gateway” to the oceanfront resort tourist attractions. Shore Drive also includes family neighborhoods from Baylake, Bayville, Pelican Dunes to Aries. etc. A five story apartment/condo building does not belong in this area. We are not another town center or oceanfront but a small family community. There are more negatives than positives for this development. I felt city council did not listen to residents concerns but felt the favors you all owe the big developers have been repaid at the cost of Ocean Park. Election time is approaching and I know how I’m voting.
