SDCC General Meeting Agenda

Special Presentation – Lesner Municipal Wharf – Mr. Phill Roehrs, P.E. Water Resources Engineer for the City of Virginia Beach Public Works Engineering, will discuss the City’s plans to convert the temporary Wharf/Bulkhead being used for the bridge construction into a permanent structure that will be used as a mechanical dredge transfer station to support the City’s neighborhood dredge program.

Bayfront Advisory Commission (BAC) News – Mr. Wally Damon will update us on the actions of the Bayfront Advisory Commission.
Old Business-
Addition of “Your Speed Is” Traffic Signs on Shore Drive – Mr. Robert Gey, City Engineer, will be sharing the results of their study performed at the end of 2017. SDCC will share this data and collect comments and questions at our March meeting to present to the City for response.
Short Term Rentals – City Council will hold a public hearing on this topic at their Tuesday March 6th meeting. The meeting will start at 6pm and is held in Building 1 City Council Chambers.
Route 35 Shore Drive to Oceanfront Shuttle. – The City is holding a meeting to gather input from community representatives on ways to improve the service. They are also asking for ideas on how to promote the service so more people will use it. You can send any suggestions to Todd Solomon at todd@sdcc.info.
New Business –
Shore Drive Road Improvements in Ocean Park – Update on Phase 4 – CIP 2.118. SDCC and Ocean Park Representatives plan to attend a City Council Open Mic night on March 6th to request the necessary budget funding be made to move the start of this project to this year. The current construction date of 2026 is not acceptable. Community emails, letters and phone calls will be helpful.
