  1. I fully support durable and quality construction along Shore Drive. But note that this construction will add to the population that would be endangered by a major hurricane. If these condos and rentals are not built to withstand a major hurricane (CAT2 or more), the residents will be forced to evacuate onto gridlocked roads, or seek city shelters that are not available. I believe that City Council should require a stronger building code for Point Chesapeake and similar constructions.

The City, in the interest of the citizen’s, should have purchased this property as a last open area [much as pleasure house point] when the opportunity was presented at a significantly reduced price. The tax basis was more important, apparently to remove indigenous plants along Shore Drive only to plant landscaping plant that need “tax dollars” to maintain; priorities ~ CC needs a change
