The beginning of the meeting will be used to discuss several important items coming up on the SDCC list.

Pleasure House Point (McLesky Property) – Sandler Presentation mid October
Lesner Bridge Replacement Study – Currently ongoing

Brian Proctor, who put the grants together for the flashing lights on Shore and Pacific Ave. recently responded to my email about the lights being added to Shore Drive.

As you know, crossing Shore Drive, unless it’s almost the middle of the night is shall we say challenging.

In the Pilot Warrior article today, Va Beach Traffic Engineer Robert Gey had some info to help.

Oceana.

It means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. All would agree, that losing Oceana would make a huge difference in the entire Hampton Roads region. The difference, good or bad- Oceana leaving would still make a huge difference.

Todd recently asked Phil Roehrs about what happened with the planned workshop that was to take place in early August.

It is confirmed that Sandler has closed on the property. No plans have been submitted to Virginia Beach Planning Commission, but Sandler has been there.

Tuesday evening, SDCC held the second in a series of Bayfront Vision meetings.
Representatives from Cape Story by the Sea, Ocean Park, Chicks Beach, Baylake Pines, The Landings, Lynnhaven Dunes, Cape Henry Shores, 3556 and Lesner Point East were in attendance.

Tucked in the $286 billion transportation spending bill passed by Congress last week is a surprising line item: $10.8 million toward construction of a new local interchange along Interstate 64.

No road exists to connect with the proposed interchange, but if planners working for the Christian Broadcasting Network have their way, there will be one.

SDCC COMPREHENSIVE VISION MEETING JUNE 22, 2005

1.    This meeting was the first in a proposed series of focus meetings to be held to establish a comprehensive a vision of what the Bayfront Community would like to see along Shore Drive.  Some types of development are just not compatible with the character and residential aspect of this community.  There are many issues that need to be included in such an undertaking.  The agenda for this meeting was limited to three items in order to keep the duration to no more than two hours.

Dan talked to Barry Frankenfield this morning and was pleased to find out he sent a plan for Osprey Point to the Sheriff.

Barry emailed to clarify the earlier post today.
