There is a battle about to be waged concerning the National Flood Insurance Program and the rise in premiums that home owners will be required to pay. If you get your new bill and think the rates are too high and decide to not pay them, what will your mortgage company say? You will be forced to either pay the new rates or find another insurance company.
Who will provide a maximum of $250,000 coverage for your home in a flood zone? The flooding potential for your building may be one chance in 100 years, but this coverage may cost you 5 figures, and I am not counting the digits after the decimal point.
Come to the SDCC monthly meeting this coming Monday 28 JULY at 7:30 pm at the Ocean Park Volunteer Rescue Squad building (E. Stratford and Shore Drive) and hear about some of your options.
