According to a blurb under “Leasing” in The Pilot today, Hot Tuna is leasing an additional 950 sq ft that will add a private party area for up to 70 people.
Also, Don Julio’s has offered free Wi-Fi for several months now.

Dockside Inn sounds like it will be purchased, razed and replaced with condos. Should they be multi-use with restaurants or other shops on the first floor?
Anchor Inn, Surfrider and other businesses in Marina Shores aren’t having their leases renewed and are most likely closing too.
Rumor has it, condos are planned to be built several years from now.
The Bayfront area would have large public spaces for planned and unplanned gatherings that are located in areas safe for people to travel to whether it?s by foot, bicycle, car or other transportation like a Segway.
Hampton Roads was the 3rd wealthiest seafood/shellfish port last year with a monetary catch of over $100 million.

This action shall be accomplished through modifications to ordinances in the Shore Drive Overlay District, increased code enforcement, enhanced public safety, reduction in building density and establishment of preferred/prohibited project development types.
Vision:
The Vision for the Bayfront Area Vision Group[BAVG] is to improve and maintain a unique, safe, pedestrian oriented Bayfront community. The primary goal for the area shall be to emphasize the strong neighborhood characteristics, highlight the area’s environmental aspects and major historic significance. Declines in both striped bass and oxygen again show severe problems with the health of the bay.
Apparently the Lynnhaven River 2007 organization made a documentary about the Lynnhaven Inlet to help expand awareness.

Update
It’s understood that Heather Hamm will not be giving an update on the Lesner Bridge and the Sandlers are not giving a presentation for their Pleasure House Point project.
The Lynnhaven River 2007 organization is looking to fill positions for Education & Outreach Coordinator and Office Administrative Assistant.
The following two items are excellent opportunities to participate in the VB2007 celebration taking place in April 2007.
The next scheduled meeting for regarding the Bayfront Vision group will be held this Tuesday November 15, 2005 at 6:00pm in 3556 by the Bay.
The meeting will be held in their 2nd floor meeting room. Limited parking is available on site (in front and around the right side). Additional parking is available across the road in the City boat ramp area. Don’t park in Jimmy’s restaurant spots or in the boat trailer area. All other spots are acceptable even if the signage is confusing. You can also park on the street in the Ocean Park area.
So has the city made protocol such that every area who wants improvements must form lobbyist groups who must spend countless hours discussing and belaboring the same stories with city leaders.
Chalmers, an avid boater himself, met face to face with many of the skeptics and, after explaining the benefits and realities of a designation, he said, ?I don?t know anyone who?s really against this now.?
The effort is part of a strategy to rid all human-borne bacteria from the Lynnhaven.
Heather Ham, Project Manager of the new Lesner Bridge, sent an update today.
Thank you Heather!
Tim,
The following is a brief timeline of the Lesner Bridge Project.

Thank you for the detailed info Nils.
Rumor has it, Bayvista being built next to Don Julio’s and the Chesapeake House, has been owned for several weeks by Steve Ballard with Wayne McLeskey’s involvement as well.
Mr. Stanley Tseng is no longer involved in the project.
The following detailed report was received from Mike Shahsiah, P.E. in reference to feedback received from the meeting from Monday evening concerning traffic safety issues on Shore Drive.
As a [result] of updating and evaluating these accident reports every year, we have identified, scheduled, and completed, and proposed several traffic safety and capacity improvement projects along Shore Drive since then.
A “Safety Rail” on the right side of the sidewalks on Lesner Bridge could prevent a serious or fatal accident.
To all Bayfront Residents,
If you haven’t heard already, a Citywide Civic event is planned for this Saturday at the new convention center. There will be an excellent opportunity for associations and residents to talk one-on-one with City staff regarding specific neighborhood issues. Some of the items that will be covered are:
Traffic Safety/Engineering
Crime Prevention
Neighborhood Crime Issues
Clean Communities
Fire Prevention/Issues
Code Enforcement
Mayor’s Youth Council
Public Information Office (FOIA)
And the list goes on.
This event is free to the residents and should not be missed.
Please contact Suzi Thompson at the below email if you are interested.
See you there,
Todd Solomon
Cape Story / SDCC – President
Terrific article about Todd by Betsy McBride in this issue of Beach Magazine just delivered to your mailbox.
Solomon says that “more work is needed to get better communication with the city.” …“I think it can be easily fixed.”
