Parking legally in the summer time

Well, actually parking legally any time.

You’ve undoubtedly noticed a significant increase in traffic and parking in our area recently – thanks to summer finally getting here!

Whether it’s the crazy parking nearby the Duck-In Friday Nite Beach Party, or on the street in front of Croakers Restaurant, or in Chicks Beach near the beach – please park legally.

Parking legally, especially close to Shore Drive just could save a life.

Please read on for parking restrictions.

Requested but Unfunded proposal to widen Shore Drive to 6-lanes is dead for now

Remember this quote from this earlier article?
“Elminating CIP #2-857, to widen Shore Drive, would be a symbolic jesture from the City to build trust in the community that the intention is not to widen Shore Drive.”

It’s been done by Councilman Jim Wood!

A letter emailed to the Planning Commission- re: Used Car Lot

Attention Steve White:

My husband and I strongly object to having a used car lot at the location of the old Texaco at the entrance to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. It would be a blight on this beach community. If you or members of the Planning Commission have ever been to a well-planned community, you could envision having buildings and landscaping in good taste as opposed to a used car lot.

Believe it or not!

The Plannng Commission voted 9-0 to approve the proposed used car lot at the entrance to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.

Next step – City Council must approve it too before it can be built.

Thanks to Starbucks/SDCC Clean-up Crew!

Another outstanding idea for Pleasure House Point

An intriguing idea from Richard Norman about how the city could fund purchasing PHP.

Read the entire article as the city’s response to his idea is posted as well.
[Letter from the Mayor regarding this will also be posted within this Article asap.]
