Councilperson calls for Planning Dept to be cleaned out

Says she’s upset and thinks the city needs to clean house at the planning department. She says it’s the planning department that got the city tied up in these encroachment issues.

Flashing lights planned for Shore Drive to help with pedestrian’s crossing

Brian Proctor, who put the grants together for the flashing lights on Shore and Pacific Ave. recently responded to my email about the lights being added to Shore Drive.

According to OPCL, Sandler’s have closed on PHP

It is confirmed that Sandler has closed on the property. No plans have been submitted to Virginia Beach Planning Commission, but Sandler has been there.

Bayfront Vision Meeting number 2 highlights

Tuesday evening, SDCC held the second in a series of Bayfront Vision meetings.
Representatives from Cape Story by the Sea, Ocean Park, Chicks Beach, Baylake Pines, The Landings, Lynnhaven Dunes, Cape Henry Shores, 3556 and Lesner Point East were in attendance.

Lobbying does work

Tucked in the $286 billion transportation spending bill passed by Congress last week is a surprising line item: $10.8 million toward construction of a new local interchange along Interstate 64.

No road exists to connect with the proposed interchange, but if planners working for the Christian Broadcasting Network have their way, there will be one.
