Boat stolen from Long Creek on Saturday night, April 15th
A boat was stolen from a dock on Bay Island on Long Creek – across the water from Maple St.
Sat. night (Apr 15). It is a 2001 J16 Carolina Skiff. Like new condition.

This is the public meeting for the Shore Drive Safety Task Force’s recommendations.
SDAC Meeting April 20th including briefing from Shore Drive Safety Task Force
…The Committee will receive a briefing on the draft recommendations to the City Council from the Shore Drive Safety Task Force.
Pursuant to the resolution, short term recommendations should be completed within six months, mid term within six to 18 months and long term within 18 to 36 months.

Armed robbery on bike path near Great Neck Road
An email received by Regina, Cape Story’s Neighborhood Watch Coordinator:
“I want to make the neighborhood aware of an incident that occurred early Saturday (Apr 8) morning (around 1:25). As my boyfriend and I were walking home on the bike path from Lynnhaven Pub, in between Old Great Neck Rd. and Great Neck Rd, we were approached by a male.
Dogs save boy from collapsed sand tunnel in Chicks Beach
Monday afternoon he took two of the dogs, English spaniels, for a walk at Chicks Beach shortly before three o’clock.

Over a year ago the Warrior wrote of the speeding problem on Shore Drive in Cape Story
In April 2005, the city said the signs could be on Shore Drive as soon as June 2005. In August 2005, the city said it had applied for a state grant to buy eight warning lights.

Public Voices discussion last night - cancelled due to a lack or participation[!]
Just a quick update,
Due to the lack of participation, the Thursday April 6th Public Voices discussion was cancelled. Only 2 of the 6 people signed up attended. Somewhat amazing when you think of all the major issues that revolve around land and the development of that land.
If you are still interested in attending one of these discussions, please check out the table below for additional discussion dates. These discussion are open conversations among the participants and a great chance for the general public to get their voice heard and documented on this subject.
If you have any reservations about the legitimacy and intent of this discussion/process, please feel free to contact me. I may be able to clear up some apprehensions.

More vehicles were vandalized in Cape Story the other evening
Since my last message I have learned that the 2300 block of Hatton St. and the 2300 block of Oak St. were hit as well on the same night. The Oak St. one had sunglasses and change taken and a window was broken. The Hatton St. ones had windows broken and one was keyed (scratched) down the side of the vehicle.

April 4th, several cars broken into in 2600 block Shore Drive
The police were able to obtain fingerprints and are investigating I do not have details of what was taken other than the front panel of a stereo.
2 School Buses hit on Shore Drive by same driver
Two public school buses that stopped on Shore Drive to let off students Monday afternoon were hit by a Jeep trying to pass them.
