Crazy dust storm on Shore Drive near Taste Unlimited

This is very strange… A couple minutes ago, on the south side of Shore Drive inbetween Marlin Bay & First Court, there was a blinding dust storm being blown from the south side to the north side that took visibility to about -0- on the east bound side.

Called 385.5000. Please be careful!

Starbucks & CBF team up for fund raising effort

According to CBF’s Blog, if you bring your Starbucks tumbler to any company owned store, like ours on Shore Drive, Starbucks will donate 10 cents from the purchase price. The offer runs from April 3 to May 14, 2007.

A Jeep failed to negotiate the ‘S’ turns on Indian Hill yesterday according to an article in the Daily Press. As of right now, there is no other coverage online.

According to a letter emailed by Mr. Nutter, Sandler at Indigo Bay, LLC [1pg PDF] are the new owners of PHP. Public Notices for future hearings should be advertised as such and no longer as Tait Terrace Realty.

The proposed Indigo Dunes requests Ches Bay Hearing for March 26th be deferred

As mentioned previously, the Ches Bay Area Preservation Board will vote to defer the proposed Indigo Dunes from their March 26th meeting.

R5R Zoning change meeting at A.R.E on April 17th 2007

There will also be a Public meeting held by the North Virginia Beach Civic League regarding this proposed change to the R5R zoning.  This meeting will be held on Tuesday April 17th at 7:00pm at the A.R.E. on 67th Street.  The meeting is open to all residents involved in R5R zoning.

Saturday, April 21, 2007 is the Annual Oyster Roast for Lynnhaven River Now

Mark your calendars:

Watch for invitations to go out in the next few weeks.
The Oyster Roast will be from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m.

The “More Perfect Jones” bluegrass band, which played for us at last year’s Oyster Roast with rave reviews, will be playing for us once again this year.  Additionally, our menu this year will feature Lynnhaven River Aquacultured Oysters and more.

The proposed Indigo Dunes will not be heard on March 26th 2007

For legal reasons, the proposed Indigo Dunes had to appear in the public notice in the paper this past weekend.

As stated previously at SDCC.info the CBAPB will vote to defer the project until after the Wetlands Board hears it.

They will be voting to recommend hearing it at their June 2007 meeting as it currently appears the Wetlands Board has chosen to not defer their hearing on the project again.

Lynnhaven officially becomes no discharge zone

By a unanimous vote, the State Water Control Board authorized the Lynnhaven to become the second water body in Virginia with no-dumping status. . . The vote Friday ended nearly two years of petitioning and debate about the concept, which effectively bans all discharges of human wastes from boats, even from vessels equipped with expensive, onboard treatment systems.

Sidewalk for West Great Neck Road scheduled for Design in 2009

The street, between Shore Drive and the Bay Island Bridge, is virtually unnavigable from the cyclists’ perspective. For much of the stretch, there’s no sidewalk. “I can’t get anywhere without risking bodily harm,” Jim Roberson complained.
