One perspective to consider

Thanks to Cherie, & Billy for this….

One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live.

They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.

On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, “How was the trip?”

“It was great, Dad.”

Lengthy article about Stan Tseng, developer of Bay Vista & had a proposal on PHP

Then, in 2004, on the cusp of what would have been his largest and most controversial project – 680 homes at the mouth of the Lynnhaven River – Tseng’s empire began to crumble. Property mentioned is Pleasure House Point.

Also mentioned in the article is a previous business associate who …sources of income is operating a wetlands mitigation bank. Owners of such banks buy and preserve tracts of wetlands and then sell credits to developers who are required to compensate for wetlands losses on construction projects elsewhere.

SECOND ANNUAL WOUNDED WARRIOR CHRISTMAS LEAVE FUNDRAISER

Last year there was a fundraiser that was held at New Bern Golf and Country Club. That fundraiser, along with an e-mail that was circulated throughout the United States, raised enough money to send every Wounded Marine home for Christmas. Donations to this project bought airline tickets, hotel rooms, rental cars, bus tickets, whatever was necessary to get the wounded Marines and Soldiers together with their families and grant them their Christmas wish!

Wounded Warrior Christmas Leave Fundraiser for more info as to how to help donate.
Donations must be received by Dec. 11.

Thanks to Cherie and Billy for the tip.

Loving Blue Tip Persion Cat Missing… Photo

I thought that I would give a little more information for you to pass along if you could that would be great and a better picture to pass around as well.  His name is ?Sully? like from Monster Inc. he also will come to the name of Beans or Sully Beans.

He is a 3 ? year old ?white? Blue Tip Persian, he is very curious likes to climb trees and is very loving and will come to just about anyone.  He is also not wearing his collar,  he has been out before but never goes very far and always comes back he has been out for three+ days and it is getting cold, he stays right in the block of Maple Street if he gets out and or just before on the beachside right where our house is.  He does have a tendency to meow or cry a lot if he is lost or stuck in a tree; if you could pass this along to the neighborhood, we and my children would greatly appreciate it.  I have attached another couple pictures to help if anyone has seen him.

Thank you very much
Lenn Vessell

New State of the Ches Bay report - D

With just three years to go before the court-ordered deadline to remove the Chesapeake Bay from the nation?s dirty waters list, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation?s (CBF) 2007 State of the Bay report finds the health of the Bay going in the wrong direction. This year?s health index dropped one point to 28, far from our goal of 40 by 2010, and an unacceptable ?D? grade.

Unscientific Poll about the proposed Indigo Dunes latest minor changes

The latest article about changes for the proposed Indigo Dunes has an entertaining poll that’s been swinging back and forth.

Come people…get back to work and have a productive day for your boss.

Underage drinking & bonfires on the beachs, curfew info

There have been several reports of what appears to be underage kids drinking and building bonfires on the beach and leaving the area a mess including their beer bottles. They seem to generally gather in the area between Kendall and Calvert Streets and are partying on the catamarans parked there. Owners of the catamarans might want to check them for damage and be a little more observant of the beach activities. These kids seem to gather on the nights when the weather is nice.

Please call the VB Police non-emergency number 385-5000 and report the bonfires and underage drinking when observed.

Article about Indigo Dunes reducing their footprint - slightly

“They keep saying, the wetlands, the wetlands, the wetlands, so we said let’s see what we can do to further minimize the impacts,” said Karl Mertig, an environmental scientist with Kimley-Horn and Associates Inc., the engineering company the Sandlers have hired for Indigo Dunes.

Read entire article, comment & respond to poll at Pilotonline.com.

…further minimize the impacts… !?

According to the Regulations/Law – there can be no impacts. End of story.

Since PHP has been under new ownership, there can also be no claim of any hardships.

You probably noticed, a different employee of Kimley-Horn wrote the letter to the editor in Sunday’s paper.

Remember the quote – Pleasure House Point, as it is today called, looks better from the air than it does from the ground?

Below is another photo of Pleasure House Point from the ground.
[Photo was taken before no trespassing was enacted. Please respect their property rights – do not trespass.]

According to all their JPA’s, all the trees in the background will be cut down, and several feet of fill will be needed to be built up for the construction of Indigo Dunes.
