This is a new project that was just added to the Bayfront Area projects list. Please be aware if you live along the sand pile or the beach access routes during this replenishment.

In response to the recent October coastal low pressure storms, Public Works obtained quotes to place approximately 84,000 cubic yards of sand along 1,700 feet of the Cape Henry Beach shoreline between Ocean Shore Cresent and Spinnaker Ct. Virginia Carolina Civil received the purchase order to conduct the sand truck haul on 11/7/2025. Sand will be excavated from the City sand stockpiles at the Lynnhaven Sand Stockpile site adjacent to the Lynnhaven Municipal Boat Ramp and the Maple Street sand stock pile. The sand placment effort will begin in early December. (Updated 11/14/2025).
